Eurosafe UK have bean busy raising money for Children in Need

Following the generosity of the Eurosafe UK staff raising over £300 for BBC Children in Need, Chief Executive Alison Day agreed to bathe in a paddling pool filled with baked beans for 30 minutes.

The pool was set up in the car park and filled with over 160 cans of the worst beans money could buy. Not one to do things by halves, Alison arrived dressed for the occasion looking like a cross between Marilyn Monroe and an extra from Benidorm in swimsuit, makeup, jewellery and high heels (clearly well thought through!). The weather was also kind, the rain held off and wind died down (the wind picked up considerably after she got out!).

News of the Companies fundraising exploits had reached BBC Radio York who sent a reporter to cover the event live on air. At 9.10am Alison removed her high heels and waded into the paddling pool. Members of the Eurosafe UK staff were standing by with an extra bucket of baked beans and subsequently poured the contents over Alison’s head to ensure no areas of her person remained beanless.

Alison was a great sport and stayed in for the full 30 minutes, fortunately for the staff they managed to avoid joining her in the pool despite Alison’s best efforts to gain an accomplice.

The fundraising total moved to over £350 with generous donations from onlookers. Always happy to raise money for charity, Eurosafe UK have added to this sum further and look forward to donating the substantial total to the very worthy causes Children in Need help.
