Eurosafe UK launch new web-based roof safety system
Eurosafe UK are proud to announce the launch of roofaware.com which is a web based sharing portal that allows clients to plan and manage all types of roofing works by sharing safety critical information.
It is a fact that the majority of fatalities in the construction industry are caused by falls from height. Most of these falls are from roof level.
Because roof works can range from large re-covering projects through to a relatively simple short duration repair it is impossible for clients to use a ‘one size fits all’ solution to prevent falls. In fact it can often be simpler to control a larger roofing project where there is ample time and finance to ensure that the works can be carefully planned well in advance of commencement on site.
roofaware.com has been formulated by Eurosafe UK to assist in protecting client organisations from potential prosecution for not executing their duties under current legislation, for example:
- Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974
- Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- Work at Height Regulations 2005
- Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006
- Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007
roofaware.com assists clients in discharging their duties by hosting important information relating to their roofs on-line. roofaware.com enables even the smallest project to be pre-planned by ensuring contractors and the rest of the clients team have access to photos, drawings etc.
By having access to key documentation contractors are able to produce necessary risk assessments and method statements that take into account the actual site specific environment. Issues such as open edges, fragile surfaces, asbestos, existing plant and access/egress can all be addressed prior to starting works on site.
By introducing roofaware.com to the property and construction industries Eurosafe UK are building on the success of www.e-constructionmanager.co.uk their popular information sharing portal than allows clients to manage construction projects and also host compliance information on line.
