Eurosafe UK CDM Services Now Offer No Cost Vetting of Client Supply Chains
In the cut and thrust world of the construction industry how often does anyone get offered something for free? Not very often but when that something is a service that would enable your business to be compliant with safety legislation it becomes an even better offer!
We are talking here about supply chain management and in particular a key requirement under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM). All contractors who appoint trade contractors must be able to evidence that such organizations have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to fulfil the role.
We often speak to Principal Contractors who have difficulty in pre-qualifying their supply chains on health and safety matters. Despite this being a time-consuming but necessary exercise it is often carried out internally by individuals whose time could be better spent elsewhere in the business. Frequently the pre-qualification of trade contractors is undertaken in an unstructured manner resulting in trade contractors being appointed without clear evidence of a safety culture.
This is where the Free Offer comes in. When using our Eurosafe UK CDM Competent Scheme all costs are borne by the trade contractors with no costs paid by the Principal Contractor. Interested? click here
Eurosafe UK are members of the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) Forum – an umbrella body supported by the Health and Safety Executive which ensures that member schemes recognise each other’s pre-qualification assessments by means of a ‘deem to satisfy’ or mutual recognition arrangement. This means that once a contractor is approved by one of the scheme providers then the other scheme members of SSIP must accept this accreditation without requiring the supplier to undertake another assessment exercise. In addition the SSIP Forum’s member schemes are audited by SSIP to ensure they comply with health and safety core assessment criteria which have been recognised by the HSE (and which are consistent with the health and safety module in Publicly Available Specification PAS 91).
