Needs Analysis

Training needs analysis is the process of identifying the gap between employee skills and the actual training required to be undertaken. It is the first stage in the training process and involves a procedure to determine whether training will address the identified skills needed to do the job or role.

Training can be described as “the acquisition of skills, concepts or attitudes that result in improved performance within the job environment”.

Eurosafe UK can assist an organisation in identifying the skills and levels of understanding that the individuals will need within an organisation in relation to asbestos and for construction health and safety.

Very often the training is prescriptive, as is the case under Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Within the ACOP (Approved Code of Practice) for this Regulation there are helpful listings of the subject matters which are to be included within any related training courses. There is some guidance as to the required competency of the trainer too, although widely it is understood that the trainer must be competent themselves. The definition of competent is someone with the skills, knowledge and experience.

Eurosafe UK will assist you in putting together a schedule of training delivered by competent trainers which is required for employees. We can provide bespoke training courses designed to plug any gaps in people’s knowledge. Bespoke courses are often the most effective way of satisfying the training needs analysis.

Bespoke training courses also offer significant cost savings as your employees are attending only relevant training, meaning that they can return to their work sooner. Our courses are delivered either at your own premises or at our dedicated training facilities.
